My first project is ready!

Here is a dress for my 18 month old niece made from linen dish towels
Sis got the for Christmas and loved the fabric so much she asked if I could turn them into clothes for her kids... made her son a shirt a while back, but just got to the dress...

So here is what the dish towels looked like...

Here is the cut out front, and the first petal rouching I attempted...

And here is the finished dress- top is the rouching I made and the butterfly is a freezer paper stencil painted on... it has a bit of gold in it so it shimmers ..(I was so excited to be almost done, I forgot to take any more pictures... hope these are enough LOL!) The hem is straight, didn't get it on the hanger straight...

And the back..

That dress is adorable! Your sister is lucky to have you! I think that the butterfly is a fantastic touch.

Default A doll dress by my daughter

Since her brother made something for the last contest and won, my middle daughter wanted to enter this time... so again using a fat quarter, she made a dress for her doll, "Cinderella".

She didn't want it to have sleeves, so we went with a simple tube style halter dress...
Pinning edges

Sewing!

Sometimes mom gives a bit of guidance..

Happy girl!

Close up..

Very cute. Your daughter did a good job on that dress.

The butterfly dress and the doll dress are both very cute. Your daughter is lucky to have such a good teacher.

Gloria, I've never known of anyone who makes such beautiful doilies. Or anyone who makes such a variety of them.

Where did your mom learn to crochet?
