Default Please Add Details In The Thread...

Hi everyone,

I would like to let everyone know that as of March 23rd, 2013 we would like to have "How To Write Ups"
done with the details and pictures added to the thread and not just a link to a blog or website.

First, some people don't like to click on a link that is placed in a thread as, for all we know, it could very
well be a link to a site that will infect our computers with a virus.

Second, the whole point of this forum is to show 'how it's done', not add a link for us to go searching for it.
I hope that doesn't sound rude, but it seems that there are relatively few "how-to" threads on this forum that teach something.

Thank you!

Barb

oh wow, I am definitely going to have to rework mine then. My only issue with this is that most of my tutorials are in video format as I tend to take LOTS of pictures to better help those that are not as craft oriented. I have noticed that posts with a very large amount of photos tend to slow down my computer IMMENSELY as they can sometimes take longer to load depending on photo size and quality and I tend to stay away from those tutorials altogether

I'm glad to see this. I have gotten three trojans in the past two months from clicking on blog links.

I'm glad to see this modification being made. For the record, I have never clicked on anyone's post where the only way to view it was to click a link. You never really know what you are clicking and IMHO, if it's worthy of posting, it's worthy of taking the time to post it properly. A link seems like the easy road.
Thanks for making the change.

Thanks for clarifying the "rules of the road" for this forum.

I look forward to seeing How-to's but I am not a blog follower so have missed out on a lot.

why are some threads considered "sticky"?

Sticky means that these threads always stay at the top of the list. Usually those are important threads or particularly useful ones.

No problem Rachrob!! Sometimes my explanations are only clear to me
If I ever do that to you, don't hesitate to ask for clarification. I won't be offended.
Once you find a forum that is a good fit for you, they are a lot of fun and a great support. Like Tracy (downrightart) said, I hope you enjoy it here and continue to be an active member!
