Lightbulb Best Digital Dye Cutter?

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. Right now i'm in the process of researching the best digital dye cutter.

I know about the Cricut's and such, but I'm not interested in the cartridges and such, and limiting what I need to make.

What I'm looking for is a semi-affordable machine (I'm a college student), I can design all my own designs or import designs. I use adobe photoshop cs3 to make logos and such.

I'm wanting to use it for specifically vinyl decals, and then perhaps decals to make custom t-shirts.

I have looked into the Sillhoette Cameo for $300.00 and am interested in that, just want to see more feedback from everyone.

I just need advise in what would be the best machine what what I'm needing, and what everyone has opinions on.

Thank You!

(I have attached a few images of what I use the vinyl for with the reliefs and such. The mason jars are glass etched, and the vinyl makes the best outcome)

I recently purchased the Silhouette cameo & while i have never used any type of machine lke this i can't say if its better than something else but what i can say is I LOOOOOOVVVVEEE IT!!!! I would say you need to be kinda computer savvy & would HIGHLY recommend purchasing the upgraded software. On their websites its like $50 but you can get it for $38 on eBay.

If Barbedrusticranch is still looking for diecutters..I second the cameo silhouette. My silhouette was a momma's day present from my marvelous son and it is wonderful. Used it the create giftie water bottles decorated with vinyl. Also used it in machine embroidery for applique. Today used it to create labels for my home canned tomatoes and relish. I didn't have any precut label stock but I did have a full sheet of adhesive paper. Made my label decorations in silhouette's software and die cut the circle to fit within the metal toppers of jars.

I have the Cricut and regret the day I bought it. Glad to hear you are not opting for that one. I loved it until the day it sewed Make the Cut and Sure cuts a lot. They want to restrict people to using only Provo Craft products. (cartridges and their site)

I don't know if you have bought you machine yet, but if not look into the Zing, by Make the Cut. The price is reasonable.

And as for software I love Make the cut. Easy to use and design with. Of course you design in any other software could bring it into MTC and cut from there.

If I ever have enough money to change my machine it will surely be the ZING!
