Default Gluing paper to MDF wood and getting bubbles, help?

I am making some picture frames by gluing scrapbook paper to MDF wood. I am using 3M 77 as the adhesive wich seems to be working well until I spray a finish over everything. Once the glue (3M 77) dries I am using a surface sealer to help protect the paper. When it dries I am noticing bubbles that weren't there before. It seems the sealer and the spray adhesive are not compatible? I have tried the following sealers: Krylon Preserve It in Gloss and Super Surface Sealer by Design Master. I have tried Mod Podge in the past but don't like that it shows brush lines. Any suggestions??

You may not be getting a good enough seal the first time. My first few projects were like this but I've found that if I use a brayer and roll it over the paper after gluing it down (before sealing the top layer) that it goes much better. I use modge podge for adhereing the paper to the wood, then brayer a few times, then use whatever sealant over that once it dries. Hope that made sense and it helps!
