I've been told that you shouldn't try to include every picture you like in your scrapbooks. Then when you are scrapbooking, you're getting more pages done. But that's hard to do when there are a lot of nice pictures to choose from. I have to go by the quality of the pages rather than the number of them that get finished.

Some people schedule time every week or month for it. They consider it an appointment they have to keep. Then they take everything to a friends house or the library or even a scrapbooking store that has tables they can work on.

I have some friends that go in on the cost of renting a cottage for a 3 or 4 day weekends. They set up their stuff and scrapbook all weekend. But that would be awfully expensive.

Try to set a goal for yourself. Do one page a day. Just one. At the end of a full year, you'll have quite a few albums done. I sure wish I could follow my own advice on this one.

Good luck. I'm looking forward to seeing what other scrapbookers suggest.

Oh, just one more. If you have a friend or two who also have kids, you can do some swapping. She takes your kids to her house for a day so you can stay home and scrapbook. Then you return the favor. She doesn't necessarily have to be scrapbooking while you have her kids, just anything she wants to do.

Great ideas, thanks. That page a day thing may work, that's 365 pages in a year!

My suggestion is to do the scrapbook page as soon after the event as possible. That way you have the freshest memory of the event.

That's a good one, as time does fade our memories a bit, doesn't it?

I have the same problem with never finding enough time as well. I write a blog with any little tidbits of what the kids are up to and milestones so I will know what to write when I get around to finally scrapping. I also got journaling software which I need to put on the actual computer.... I was using it and the computer crashed and everything was lost! The journaling software can print everything out nicely to fit onto a layout too..... Now that I think about it I really need to find that darn disc!

I know that I need to come up with a system and stick to it.... maybe one day during the week to make one page per kid and then work on a military scrapbook for myself and my hubby.... the sad thing is I have 12 x 12 envelopes set up with everything I need to use to make a page.... I just never do them!!!!

Default Ever thought of going digital?

I have been an avid scrapbooker for 7 years. In fact, I started scrapping for others, which is what got me thinking about going digital. After some bouts with Photoshop I switched to Photoshop Elements and then I discovered Heritage Makers and OMG! I loved the system so much I became a consultant.

It's only been a year but I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old. I finished my 3 year old's first year album and my family album for 2008, I still have 2006 and 2007 to do, but the rule I learned is to start with the present and work your way backwards. So, I intend to get those two years done and I will be caught up!! Anyone out there know what that feels like? Well, I will soon find out .

At any rate, I digress. I lead a scrapbook group at my church and I still love traditional scrapbooking but to be able to do gifts or books that need to be duplicated and other projects that are too labor intensive for traditional scrapbooking is great! Check it out: www.PicturesWithPurpose.net you can try it for free.

I have given up ever trying to catch up. I am just slowly working on what I can work on. I really like mini books easier to put together.

when you find the solution or an answer let me know.....I have over 1200 photos that need to be put into albums or scrap books. I think I am just a little behind

I was told a great fact several years ago....start from now and go BACK! It's easier that way and I find that it really works
