I only know 1 person who is always caught up on her scrapbooks. That's my sister-in-law and.... oh wait, they adopted a baby in August. She hasn't had time to start a book for him, so I guess that means I don't know of anyone who is caught up on their books.
My daughters are 24 and 25. When I started scrapbooking around February of '98, I foolishly thought I could catch up on their books. When my first grandson came along, I scrapped the idea of catching up on pictures of the past and vowed to keep up on his scrapbook.
That didn't happen and now I have 2 and 1/3 more grandkids. But I'm not giving up. I do plan on making books for all of them. I have the first six months of my 1st grandsons pages done though, and a lot of other pages that aren't in chronological order.
I know what you mean about the frilly frou-frou pages. I like mine to be simple and not too trendy. The last trend I noticed in s.b. magazines was using pink, brown and turquoise paper, stickers, etc. even if it clashed with the pictures on the page. And sometimes you have to look hard to find the picture on a finished page because there's so much 'stuff'.
