Anyone else sew clothes?
I make a lot of clothing for my kids. Does anyone else make clothing too? Whats your favorite patterns (sewing, knitting, crocheting.. or other) ?

Me!! I do, I do lol. As we already discussed, The Fishsticks Curved Raglan is a fave Other than that I normally use store bought patterns for their clothing. I wold really like some links to some more WAHM or WAHD made patterns. I love to support parents staying at home with their LO's

I made a dress for my youngest once. I think in the end it cost twice what it would have to just buy one! It was cute though. It had a matching purse.
Of course, I didn't take any pictures of it....
She was asking me just last night if I could make her another one, then proceeded to describe what she would like. I laughed. What she wants is WAYYYYY beyond anything that I could ever do! But I love her faith in my sewing ability!

I made my DDs halloween costume. It cost about the same. But it was cute and there was nothing else like it. After it was made (Tinkerbell) She proceded to tell me she didnt like tinkerbell.. GRRR..
I mostly just make up patterns. Except knitting or crocheting patterns. I go to the store all th time and i just dont like their patterns...

I don't as much anymore since my big kids are growing up and prefer the "brands" but I used to sew a TON for them. You can click the link in my Signature line that is the gallery of my past work. I used to sell my stuff too.
Patterns. I do a lot of my own stuff and a LOT of cutting and pasting of basic patterns. I can often be found with scissors and tape cutting and taping bits and pieces of patterns then modifying them to match up nicely.
Some of my favourites though are Burda and I LOVE Ottobre. Ottobre are a bit of a pain when you first start using them though, but once you've used them a few times it isn't so bad.
This year I took the Wardrobe Refashion pledge for 6 months so I will be making and upcycling clothing for myself. It should be interesting. I've pledged my older kids as well so it should be fun. My almost 7 year old DD will be learning to sew as soon as I get my studio cleaned up and get her a dedicated space for her sewing machine.

I use Ottobre magazines too! I love their style and the added details on all their patterns. It took me a bit to figure them out; adding a seam allowance sure helped the fit :-)
I sew a bit for myself too. My favourite patterns are Jalie patterns. They are from Quebec and are really fashion forward and actually fit! The coolest thing is that each of their patterns has size 2T to Plus 22.

I saw that Wazoodle has the Jaile patterns. I was wondering about them. I may have to check them out further.

Well, I just started sewing, really, so the only thing I've made is a pair of flannel pants for my youngest that made me want to pull my hair out!! Well, the pattern did. Even my mom agreed that it was confusing. And she's been sewing since she was young. She made most of her own clothes growing up, and made a lot of my clothes too.
Back on track, I'd like to sew more clothes for my kiddos once I get better at it. Well, the youngest anyway. The oldest probably not. Is it just me (and it may be, I haven't looked that many places!) but it seems like there are a LOT more things for girls than boys. And it also seems like it's okay to make stuff for girls, but boys get made fun of more, you know what I mean??
The Wardrobe Refashion pledge is pretty cool!! I don't buy many clothes for myself any more (well, I'm in need of a few maternity clothes right now) but I will admit that I can be quite a shopaholic...

I am making more and more clothes. I just got a serger for Christmas so I am excited about expanding. Mostly store bought patterns though I have bought 2 wahm patterns for little girls dresses.
