Hi Ladies! I just joined and I'm excited to have a place to talk craft! I make children's clothing and accessories at the moment. I have a shop on etsy called Butterfly Baby Place. I make a lot more clothing for others than I do for my kids, but that's one of my new year's resolutions!!! LOL!
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

I can make a skirt if it is a straight skirt. I've done shorts before, but they are tricky! I sewed my legs together! lol I'm learning more and more. But it's getting harder and harder to find modest clothes for my girls, so I'm learning!

I have triplet nieces that I sew for. I purchase patterns?tutorials on Etsy from TrotterSweatPea, KustomKidsBoutique, WhimsyCouture and a few others. They are tutorials more than actual patterns, but are easy to follow and the end result is always amazing.

I have only been sewing for about 6 months so I only use patterns. My favorites so far are Sandi Henderson patterns. They are so easy to understand and are good for beginners. I LOVE them!

I love to sew! If only I had a better sewing machine and my own place to sew. I am in the middle of sewing longies that should have been done long ago. I have misplaced the waist and I don't have extra fabric. The fabric on a discount rack (I love it) so I don't think I could get an extra piece. I will probably have to add a solid color. Not bad, but not what I wanted. Will post pictures later.
I will definitely be checking out the etsy site. Sounds Great!!
Thanks!
Cindy

I don't sew that much clothing, I've made a dress and some pants but that's it. I want to do more but not until I get a serger!

I just started sewing about 6 months ago so I still learning. I also jsut got my serger for x-mas but I still have yet been able to really play with it let alone learn how to use it... one day.
But I plan on making clothing for not only my kids but myself as well once I get better. I do like the Fishsticks Raglan stuff so I'm planning on getting that pattern and I picked up several patterns on the black friday sale but I also plan on making a lot of my own patterns, for some reason I like the flexability of making my own.

I tend to find it easier to make a pattern from an existing piece of clothing that already fits, and adjust it to fit. I have only been sewing for about a year, and the worst fit I've had was the one top I made from a pattern LOL! it is SO wide! Not sure what I did, but oh, well. I just found a hanna play dress for $3 at the thrift store and it's a little large so I am going to make some dresses (adding some extra ruffles as dd is a huge ruffle fan) and copy it and not leave seam allowances, and make it a bit longer (she's got long legs so dresses get short before the sleeves and top stops fitting). I am away from home right now, but already have fabric and am just waiting to get home (sometime next week) to get started!
