Default Create Your Own Fabric or Image on Fabric

Researching direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, I recently stumbled on these sites that enable you to have your own designed fabric made with no minimums and no set-up fees. Most of the sites will take your image and show you options for pattern repeats or you can "float" a single photo or image in the center of a piece of fabric. 8x8 swatches were like $5US and fabric costs depended on the type and width. Fabrics came in cottons and weights for quilters on up through bamboo/cotton and other blends for upholstery, etc. You can get whatever length you want. Don't push me for what all the details mean because I am hard pressed to sew a button back in place and know nothing about buying or using fabric.

I am so excited about this- my sis and bro-in-law are amazing artists, as is my dad, so I told them, to design me fabric and I will sew it up for them...

I use spoonflower frequently! I love them! I also currently have a fabric in their weekly contest, its the sewing-toile by christine hansen if anyone wants to check it out.

And if you LIKE designing fabric you can get paid by spoonflower and more for your work I havent gotten that far yet.
I agree, costly but Id def be interested if I found the right kind of material Particularly if you were making a unique project for someone special

I really really really want to do this... but it is so expensive. Maybe I can afford it one day, because I have so many awesome (I think) ideas for fabric...

Wow, that is so awesome. I'll have to think of a good design.
