Default Quilting

I have some old quilts from my great grandmother and I love the idea of making something that is useful and can be passed down for generations.
I'm thinking of starting a small quilt just to get my feet wet and then move up to larger pieces from there.

Has anyone here done any quilts? I'd love to see some photos if you have.

I have completed two quilts one for my niece and one for my nephew when they were babies, they are now teenagers. I have started a quilt for my oldest daughter, 12 years ago, and shamefully have never finished it.

I'll have to see if I can find the pictures of the two quilts I finished.

Default Quilted Turtle Pin Cushion

Hi, just would like to share my free pattern of hexagon quilted turtle pincushion http://www.craftpassion.com/2009/03/greeny-pinky.html
To get the free pattern, all you need to do is filled up the contact form in my blog and state that you are you going to do with the turtle after you have made one, e.g. keep it for own collection, as gift to someone or something else... I wish that you can share with me a photo or 2 of your turtle by using my pattern, no obligation, just want to see how my pattern turns out in your hand. Don't you think that it is more meaningful for me to share my pattern in this way?
Go to my blog and request one now!!!

Hi! I am new here. I think that you have the right idea. I have been quilting for 25 years! It doesn't seem that long ago that I made my first quilt! My first hand quilting was an old quilt top I bought at an auction, I didn't really know what I was doing. I quilted it on the top of my kitchen table! I didn't use batting because the design was stars and triangles and the edges weren't square. I really liked finishing an old quilt top and have been hooked ever since! I don't have a pic of that one, but I just posted a pic of my most recent quilt, it's called Deirdre's Quilt. Have fun and be sure to post some pictures!!

momtoesther, that is adorable!! Great job!

I have never done any quilting, but I have a quilt that is very dear to me. After my great-grandmother passed away when I was in high school, we found boxes of quilt squares that she had cut out, but never sewn up. My grandmother (her daughter) pieced them together, and then my great-great-aunt did the quilting. I received it for a high school graduation present. A very special keepsake!!!

I would love to make a lap quilt one day. I just dont know if I have the patients to do so. My great grandmother quilted and I have a lot of her quilts. She did a lot of them by hand and they are so special to me.
