Christmas Crafts for 2010
Yeah, I know it's early, but not too early to start planning.
I'm planning to dust off the lathe and see what I can make. I also want to try to do some cork art, something with beads and pins, and origami ornaments.
So, what are you making for Christmas crafts this year?

I haven't thought a lot about it, but I was thinking about making a few more ornaments like I finished at the beginning of the month. Glass balls with a bead netting around them. I am also getting the materials to make glass tile pendants very soon. If the first ones work well, LOTS of people will be getting those as gifts!

I'm doing something with Yo-Yos----maybe placemats. I'm hopefully going to get those Nutcracker cards done. I have started on one nutcracker. Only two more to go!
And the way it's going for me, that's enough!

Oooo. Glass tile pendants! I can't wait to see those. I hope they work out well. I have those microslides and thought I would try them, but I've broken every one that I tried.
Tracy, I want to see what you do with those yo-yo's. I've thought about making something like that, but I just never seem to get there.

I do have some Christmasy material already cut out. So, I really need to do something with them. But, it's gonna take alot of yo-yos.

I really want to make one of those yo-yo dolls. I just have to find the time.

It's never too early to think about Christmas crafting! As we all know, Christmas crafting starts way before December.
I had this grand plan of crocheting scarves for family member Christmas gifts. I need about 10 to start, more if I want to include more family. I have 4 done. But I've been having some weird swelling in my hands... definitely slowing down the process.

Maybe you have a little arthritis or carpel tunnel syndrome. I can't think of anything else that would cause your hands to swell up.
Don't forget to post your scarves. I'd love to see them.

I've got all my ingredients except for what should have been the easiest -an image to use. I should be able to come up with something though. I am VERY excited to start this.
Kenbo is going to make me stop coming here. I keep learning something new that I want to try and costing money!
Is a microslide for a microscope? If so (although I'm sure you already know this) make sure that they are not sharp. I picked up tiles for cheap at my favourite bead store and they are very smooth and rounded. And they are thicker than I imagined they would be. (I only left two chipped ones there! I picked up a bunch since they were running low and I didn't know when they would restock them.)

I was trying to figure out why it matters if they are sharp. Sometimes I'm not thinking.
Actually I was hoping to copper foil them around the edges, but I have to get them together without breaking them first.
Maybe you can cruise the web for images. They have a lot of free images that you can download. I was thinking of using some of my photography. I also have some great looking wallpaper samples that have beautiful pictures on them, some Victorian, some florals.
