I've PM'd Jerry too so maybe he will get that in his inbox. Jerry, we are sorry we didn't get right on it. I wish we were all here and could read every forum, but alot of us are a "hit and a miss" , I'm afraid. We have the regulars that still miss some funny stuff and neat ideas and find it two months later!

Angela is right. We are all pretty good at responding to newbies. Sometimes we do miss some threads.

Great rough draft Kenbo! After explaining my version in a PM to Jerry, I think I like yours better! I made a few in my day. Mostly with old tobacco sticks and we tied them together and cut the bottom with a saw to make it sharp to stick in the ground. Pine straw was more in supply then and mowed grass. I think I like the rags or maybe the plastic bags to stuff them with. I'm gonna start saving them all now---even the torn ones so I can make me a scarecrow. Between Jerry's idea and Kenbos drawing and all the talk of making them, I have to make one!

My hubby made a scarecrow for me several years ago in the same fashion that Ken suggested. He made a frame except he actually added 2 legs. We then 'dressed' the frame and called it good! I have used it every year since an even at a 'pirate' themed birthday party.

I know what you mean.... I find older threads (when I actually have 2 minutes to look around) I've missed and think to myself, "self, you missed a great opportunity for a one-liner." LOL

I've made a couple with old jeans and shirt and leaves and grass from my yard. We get huge leaves in our yard, so the clothes fill up pretty fast. I usually just sit it on my front step or on a lawn chair. I like to use a pumpkin for a head. Or a fake pumpkin if the real one is too heavy. lol
