Default Nutcrackers

Has anyone here made a nutcracker doll? How about ornaments? What did you make them out of?

I have never, ever thought to try to make one. Do you mean the soldiers at Christmas time? I love those. I have a collection of those that gets displayed every Christmas. I have a little plain wooden one that I am supposed to paint (well, three -one for me and one each for my kids) but I'm afraid of wrecking it. Which is kinda dumb really because they have been sitting around for two Christmases, and not being enjoyed.....
I wouldn't know where to begin making one...

Yeah, the toy soldiers. You should finish them Angela. I think I just want to be able to create one somehow. AND their uniforms.

Here are some. And some of them are like the ones I have.

Hey, I think I might have some of those. The ones I have are ornaments for hanging on a tree.

Yeah, they seem to be a common kind, I noticed.

I should of took pics of mine this past Christmas, but never got around to it. Mine are all above the fireplace on the mantel. They looked really good. Above them, was a huge wreath with lights on it. Other than the stockings hanging, that's my Christmas. I gave my tree and ornaments to my daughter two years ago. She loves decorating for Christmas. Me? I'd rather fix lights outside!

I'm thinking of doing a Christmas card this year of my own. Kinda like my other note cards but this one in color. Guess what my subject will be?

Last year I made a plastic canvas tissue topper with a toy soldier (nutcracker?) on it for my charity crafting group.

You (and your family) have yourself on my list then!

I think I'm going to make it primative like...or at least victorian like. I'll post a pic of the one I like....
