well i have this rule...make one thing for whatever and one thing for
x-mas. what i mean is if i make a cross i make one for x-mas and so on so i always have double of what ive made and have something for SOMEONE come x-mas. Oh BTW if you are beaders you should check out www.firemountaingems.com . I got SUCH a deal on some beads i feel like i robbed them. they have this $3.00 something it's in the header of the site...well i got ..are you sitting down...roughly 2300 beads for $2.09 yes 2300 beads so i bought 3 of that and the same deal with another size bead.. so yes i will have a blast doing my beadwork.!!!!!! the bag is a mixture but who cares the sizes are the same all i have to do is sort the colors. woohoo!!!!!

Holy smokes! I don't even know how to do beading, but I'd order a couple of those for that price. It would make a nice gift for a friend who does beading, or maybe to donate to a charity or children's hospital, etc.
Thanks for the link Charmedp3.

When do you start?
I start around the middle of October, but I have been known to get inspired to do last-minute Christmas projects on Christmas Eve!!

I design a photo card, so it's usually the day before I want to send them out.
We're making Valentines for the kids classmates this year, so we're starting on them tomorrow, and going to see how it goes.

I always plan to get an early start and every year I never get it done. THIS year is MY year. It's the year I'm going to get my poop in a group and get all of the things done that I want to get done.
I want to have a tree with all handmade ornaments on it, so I will be making them through the year with my children.
I would also love to do an entirely handmade Christmas one year. Maybe that can be this year. Handmade for all of the grandparents, all of the kids draws and for my husband. Not that I have a clue what to make my husband, but I can figure it out. Ha ha. What do you get the man who has it all?

I attempted a handmade Christmas this past year and I started in June, but then I came across sales that were too good to pass up and it ended up being a 50% handmade Christmas.
