Default Fabric & Foam Art

This is a good project for using up fabric scraps. All you need is a variety of fabric colours, some styrofoam and a sharp pencil. The fabric is pushed into the foam with the pencil. I did this with a class of 5-8 year olds and they did a great job. You don't have to use flat stryrofoam - you could try using the shapes found in packing and make a fabric sculpture.

In case it isn't obvious - this is an apple tree with sun, sky and grass!
More details on my blog.
Thank you!

I like all of the colors. It would be fun to get a styrofoam ball and let kids make a Christmas ornament with the pieces of fabric.

You could even cut up old clothes that are no longer useful.

wonderful idea to from stryrofoam. My small kids love to play with this amd he prepared some interesting things like stryrofoam ball and stryrofoam roses. It is simply hard to prepare such a beautiful artwork myself.

That is awesome!!!

Bugger the kids!
I want to have a go myself

Something I can do that wont make too much mess while the house is on the market.
And hey if 5 - 8 year olds can do it then I'm sure I can give it a go lol
I always love trying something new

Lets see what I can come up with
