If you're okay with a little mess, my kids loved dying rice - I blogged about it here.

There are other crafts on my blog too; that's just a recent one that was a big hit.

They also really enjoyed piping colored pudding onto a cake (less messy than piping proper icing) - see this post

I have had great success with my kids with the series by Kathy Ross called "crafts for kids who are wild about..." We got the first three at the library and spent a month doing almost every project in the three books. I gave the kids Crafts for kids who are wild about Outer space for Christmas, along with everything I would need to make most of the projects. We are slowly working our way through it now. We tend to do a project a day, sometimes two, but mostly only one. I have a three week old and that's all I can swing just now.

My kids love it.

My daughter has had hours of fun creating some of the crafts in here. I made the "Snake mate" with her and a boy that I was babysitting, she still has it. Once we realized that "PVA glue" is just white glue, we were all set.
Hope this is helpful.

Very Nice Share Angela

If you like to have a book of fun craft ideas for kids get The Arts & Crafts Busy Book

I also have the Toddler's Busy Book & the Preschooler's Busy Book. Lots of great craft ideas in them too. Including multiple recipes for homemade clays & playdough.

I've never heard of dying rice. I will have to check it out. I have heard of dying pasta and that was really pretty.

Thanks!
